ActiveSend 2010 – Integrate OWA 2010 with Microsoft Office
ActiveSend makes it easier to send email using OWA from within Microsoft Office or other desktop applications and online web pages. ActiveSend provides the OWA user with the “File/SendTo” functionality that was previously only available with desktop Outlook.
Without ActiveSend: If a user is working within a word document and wants to send the open document by email using OWA, they would need to go through a lengthy process of first saving the document, starting up OWA (if it is not currently running), logging on, composing a message and finally attaching the file and pressing send.
With ActiveSend: The user can send a word document (or any other Microsoft Office document) by using the File/SendTo command from within the application, a one click process.
In a similar manner, ActiveSend allows a user to send files directly from their computer and to take advantage of the “Mail to” functionality on web pages, while using OWA as the default email program.
