May 4, 2011, Toronto, Canada – Messageware (http://www.messageware.com), the world’s leading provider of enterprise security, productivity and customization solutions for Microsoft Office Outlook Web App and Outlook Web Access (OWA), today announced that its OWA Desktop software solution was named as a Finalist in the Best of TechEd 2011 awards program in the Messaging category by Penton Media’s Windows IT Pro, SQL Server Magazine, DevProConnections and SharePointPro.
The Best of TechEd 2011 awards recognizes companies like Messageware who offer innovative products to the industry. The judges reviewed 334 products and services submitted for the award and chose 47 finalists to be interviewed at the Microsoft Tech•Ed North America 2011 conference in Atlanta, Georgia on May 16, 2011.
A new add-on solution slated to be released for Tech·d 2011, Messageware OWA Desktop for Microsoft Exchange Outlook Web App 2010 and Outlook Web Access 2007 brings OWA webmail functionality to the user’s desktop, mirroring the desktop Outlook experience, but with the added benefit of a thin client. The user no longer needs to log-on every time they would like to view or send a message, or access their calendar and new mail and appointment alerts are provided to the user in real time.
“We received a record number of nominations this year—more than 300—and determining an array of finalists from that large, diverse field was difficult,” said Jason Bovberg, Senior Editor at Windows IT Pro®. “The mix of products and services from year to year is ever-changing and exciting, and we feel that our 49 finalists represent highly distinguished products and services in their categories. We look forward to our show-floor interviews, which will lead to the determination of winners. As always, our judging process involves three criteria: strategic importance to the market, competitive advantage, and value to customers.”
Winners will be announced at an invite only evening reception at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, May 18, 2011.
